Thinking of switching to glasses permanently?

I do wear glasses but I normally wear contacts whenever I set foot out the door, particularly at work. I'm thinking of permanently wearing glasses from now on because contacts can be quite expensive. But I am a little hesitant.My mum says glasses suit me better but I am unsure.

I just bought myself these:

Waiting to have an eye test so I can get new lenses fitted in.

My vision is really bad, more than -4.0. I have had glasses since I was around 7. I am 27 now.
Added (1). Yes I know that which is why I usually get the lenses thinned.
