I have a question regarding eye surgery.
When someone suffers from myopia it means, most of the time, that the eye is stretched to a sphere like form, am I right?
Eye surgery changes the surface of the lens using lasers, right?
So what I was thinking, how reliable is this surgery, if after all, it's not the root of the problem which is being treated (the shape of the eye) but just the surface of it.
It's like putting makeup on acne to cover it instead of treating the cause for it…
Are there any attempts in medicine to change the shape of the eyeball?
I might be talking nonsense but that's just me…
