Polycarbonate vs Plastic lenses for rimless glasses?

My prescription is -2.25 and -2.75 in each eye with a 165 axis in one eye. I'm overall rather gentle with my glasses.

I've heard that polycarbonate is the best material for rimless glasses. However, I've also heard such lenses can cause distortion. For my prescription strength, would this be an issue?
Added (1). I use glasses for general everyday use (driving, walking, reading, being on the computer). I put them in a case at night. I don't play sports.
