Since i had a damaged lens removal at age 3 is there replacement lenses out today?

My family and doctor decided to wait for lens replacement until i stopped growing. I Dont want to be like my Grandmother who got cateracts and had a gas or glass lens placed in her eye. I want a lens that is similar to a biological lens that helps me see almost normaly.
