Got contacts about 15 days back. When I wore them for the first time, I could feel the lens. It wasn't painful or uncomfortable, i could just feel something was present in the eye.
Now, after 15 days of regular use, I can't feel the lenses in my eyes after about 5 minutes from wearing -it's as if there's nothing in my eyes yet I'm able to see clearly.
A quick google search said it might be that oxygen starvation has killed the nerve cells in the cornea and the cornea can no longer feel anything.
I called my optometrist's office, he was busy with other patients so a nurse took my call and said this is normal as the lenses I've been given does bot block oxygen.
Is this nerve cells dying from lack of oxygen? Or is this something else? Shall I book another appointment with my optometrist? The lenses he gave me are called "Avaira", and I take them out before sleeping every night. Please advice.
