Is there something wrong with my contact lenses or is this normal?

So i have been wearing RGP (rigid gas permeable) lenses for 7 years now and I have always been getting the "having dirt in your eyes constantly" sensation. I mean it's not that comfortable wearing rgp lenses in the first place but there are just more pros in wearing rgps instead of soft lenses. I'm just wondering if there is something wrong with my lenses or this is inevitable? Because if it is, i think i'm just not cut out for rgps and may switch to soft lens (because they are just so damn comfortable).
My mother said it may be because i have dry eyes due to lack of sleep but even when i do it's still the same…
