I am 22 and still under my parents' insurance until I graduate college. I know I am old enough to purchase contacts on my own as an adult, but because of being dependent on my parents' insurance, I was wondering if I would need to show their insurance card or need anything else in order to see an optometrist. Also, would I have to pay much more for contacts if I don't have an insurance card? I know I should know this stuff, but my parents like to keep me ignorant, as they refuse to tell me how stuff works. Your help would be most appreciated.
