What are trivex lenses?

My eyes got more nearsighted and I'm getting new glasses with stronger lenses today or tomorrow.My new prescription is -9.50 and -10.25 (-1.50 more for each eye). Someone here (an optician, actually) suggested that I get Trivex lenses. How do thy differ from the ones I have now which are 1.67? Are they the right kind of lenses for my prescription? Thanks!
Added (1). The licensed optician who recommended them said they would be thicker but lighter and more comfortable. True or false?

Pls tell me how to calculate total amount of myopia.
i use spect and my lens power is
left eye(-2.5D)right eye(-2.5 D)
what is my total amount of myopia..?is it -2.5D or 5.0D?
i have to appear in a medical test for a job..and requirement is"total amount of myopia should not be more than -4.0D(including cylinder)

How to become a fighter pilot in the RAAF?

I am 16 years old and just finished year 10 in high school and am interested in becoming a fighter pilot in the royal australian air force.i just want to know how to become a fighter pilot and if my hieght and eyes will hold me back. i wear contact lenses and i am 185cm tall and i know that i will grow in the next few years and that the maximum in 193cm.

i got fairly good grades this year in school with an A in advanced science and a B for maths studies.in total i got 1 A, 4 Bs and 3 Cs, i also want to know what subjects and what grades i need to do for years 11 and 12.

i know that the RAAF pays for your pilot licence and i also know other people who want to become a pilots have their licence before they go into the air force, but i cannot afford to pay $15, 000 for a pilots licence will this hold me back as well.

Pain from leaving in contact lenses?

Hi everyone. I have daily contact lenses and since I am unable to afford new ones at this time I have been occasionally sleeping in them. I don't do it much but I will sometimes keep them in at night so I can wear them the next day (because they're daily contacts I don't have a case to keep them). A few days ago I've started having eye pain in my right eye. I looked it up online and I see there can be problems if you don't clean them properly, but I don't see anything resulting from leaving fresh daily contacts in. Any ideas? Thanks

Lens cleaner solution for navel piercing?

So I got my navel pierced on Friday and I heard you can use contact lenses solution cleaner as a saline solution? Only one I found in my house is Aquify Multi-Purpose Solution for contact lenses. Can I use this to clean the piercing as well? Thanks

What index should I get for my new glasses?

I just got a much stronger prescription. I increased by -1.50 in each eye to -9.50 and -10.25.My current lenses are 1.67 index. The optician is pushing 1, 74 which cost $100 more.In 6 months my rx is probably going to go up again.Is it worth $100 to have thinner lenses for 6 months?

Can You Join The Police Force With Bad Eyesight?

I've been wearing glasses for about three months now.My eyesight is extremely poor and I struggle to see anything without my glasses.In March, I'll be able to get contact lenses, though. I also have slight astigmatism.My question is; would the police force accept me if my eyesight is this bad? Would I be required to take a test without my glasses on? Blue contact lenses.are they safe etc?

I have green eyes, but want bright blue ones. The only way to change my eye colour is obviously contact lenses.My eyesight is fine though, and I know you can get them in fancy dress stores etc. Will they be safe? They usually last 90 days which is fine, but what if I used them more without realising? If you don't use/need contacts is it safe to get these coloured ones?
