Okay so by now everyone knows about circle lenses.the contacts that are really popular in asian countries. They're colored lenses but the color extends further than your iris making your iris appear larger, which in turn makes your whole eye appear larger, it's an optical allusion (ahahaahaha punny).
Anyway.they're not USFDA approved and US optometrists hate them. They're not good for your eyes because 1.they're "one size fits all" and 2.the material is not breathable and prevents the eyes from getting oxygen. Also.you have to order them online because they're illegal to sell within the states and that can be a little dangerous too if you don't know what you're doing. Along with not knowing what you're doing.if you have perfect vision a lot of people aren't going to go to the eye doctor to get fitted because well.they eye doctor isn't going to have those lenses there and if you brought them in they'd just shun them! So not only all that stuff but you also don't get taught the proper care if you're not already a lens wearer.SO many people wear circle lenses on a day to day basis and are perfectly fine. Day to day is not good at all.and you're not supposed to wear them for more than 8 hours… but people do it and wind up just fine. Really.with the proper care and following the rules of these lenses and not wearing them for too long.they're not THAT bad.
So.since they're SO popular now. I don't see why the US doesn't manufacture their own. All contacts go beyond the iris.so all they would have to do is make the colored contacts color go out further and BAM. you have circle lenses that are safe and USFDA approved.
I actually own a pair of circle lenses for costumes that I wear very rarely and have never had a problem with them. Something that irks me about colored lenses sold in the US is that the designs are horrid. I mean they don't look good at all. If you take a look at circle lenses a lot of the designs are absolutely gorgeous and there are so many.
So yeah.why can't the US just extend the color on their normal colored contacts? Also, why can't they make better designs? I know I'd be more eager to purchase from the US if they did that.
